Dental Care Under Age 6
It is important to bring your child in for dental care even when they only have their baby teeth. Dr. Dan can make sure they avoid any dangerous decay or issues. The more often you bring your child in, the better your dentist will get to know your child’s teeth, allowing him to treat your child effectively now and in the future. Dental Care For Children 6-12
As your child begins to lose their baby teeth, they will need more dental attention. Dr. Dan will monitor the bite and overall health of their teeth. At this time, you can discuss two phase orthodontic treatment. Beginning treatment while your child is young will make their teeth healthier and straighter in the future. Here’s what you should know about dental care for kids aged 6 – 12.
Dr. Dan can apply dental sealants to your child’s teeth to prevent tooth decay. Because most tooth decay in children happens in the grooves of the teeth that are used for chewing, your dentist can place dental sealants over those areas. These thin plastic coatings will strengthen the teeth and ward off decay.
Thumb sucking is a common habit for young children, but it can cause various dental issues including a bad bite, misaligned teeth, or changes in the roof of the mouth. You can see Dr. Dan for suggestions and tools to help break your child’s thumb sucking habit.
